As you drive into Dresden, you are greeted with the beautiful Main Street lines with changing trees and smiling faces. Nestled in the valley, you can surround yourself with nature or drive up Ames Drive to overlook the town from the front yard of Dave Longaberger’s former home, pictured above. Intrigued? Your Autumnal Itinerary

Dresden Brew- Our first stop when we drive into Dresden is always for a latte from The Dresden Brew, located inside Beauty by Design Floral Boutique on Main Street. Here is where you can find a variety of refreshments, coffee and teas, and beautiful fresh flower arrangements!

→ picnic at World’s Largest Basket- With treats in hand, walk or drive down to the World’s Largest Basket to snack with a view before your big day of exploration. We can almost guarantee you won’t miss it!

Historic Prospect Place- If you keep driving down Main Street, soon you will find yourself in Trinway, home of the Historic G.W. Adams Estate. You can tour the massive mansion, ask volunteers about the history of the area, and if you make it to the roof you can get a beautiful view over the estate and see the lush forest of foliage surrounding Dresden and Trinway.

Dave Longaberger Memorial- When you head back into Dresden, the Dave Longaberger Memorial will be on your right off of Main Street. Dave’s legacy is still palpable here in the businesses and buildings he funded over the years that Longaberger was operating in town. This memorial is a quick stop, but definitely stop by to read some quotes of his and maybe even learn something new.

The Warehouse- After a big morning of adventure, you will probably be ready for lunch. The Warehouse has an extensive menu of drinks and delicacies, including truly legendary ribs and onion rings. The newly renovated inside and patio offers the perfect atmosphere for a family meal!

Muskingum Rec Trail/ Kenny Wolford Park- For an after-lunch stroll, you can choose to walk the Muskingum Recreation Trail or lounge at Kenny Wolford Park to admire the trees from your picnic blanket.

The Inn at Dresden- Next stop on your Dresden fall foliage tour is the former home of Dave Longaberger himself, now a beautiful bed and breakfast nestled in the forest. With a sprawling outdoor deck area and lush grounds, you can get a photo overlooking the village or next to the absolutely massive Adirondack chair in the front lawn. 

Shopping! –  You can’t leave America’s Basket Capital without checking out the wide array of new, vintage, and rare baskets for sale, many of which were handmade right on Main Street! You can also stop into Union Square, a former schoolhouse attended by the Longaberger family that was also once Longaberger University then the Longaberger Home Office. Here you can find more local shops and artists!

Kaleidoscope Cafe- Your last stop should be into Kaleidoscope Cafe (formerly the Old Dari Twist) for a sweet pick-me-up after a fun-filled day in Dresden!
